But what does this mean?
2 Shared vCPU Cores, 4GB Ram, 40GB SSD - this refers to the specification of the server that your service will be hosted on. For our essential plan, this is a great start for small - medium sized applications.
20TB Monthly Traffic - This refers to how much data can flow through the server on a monthly basis. All of our plans off 20TB as standard, this is plenty for 99% of services, websites and applications for small businesses. Don't worry, we do not cut you off if you managed to reach the limit. Your website will continue to work, we will have to bill you for any additional traffic.
Usually out-of-plan traffic is billed at £4/TB (unless stated differently on your plan), you can increase your traffic plan in the "upgrade" option in your service information at any time, this will allow you to save some money if you require more traffic consistently, costing only £2.5/TB.
Daily Backups - We will backup your server every 24 hours, all included in your plan at no extra cost! This is great in cases that development incidents cause any issues, with this we can roll your service back to how it was at the time of the backup. *pssst* (Need to backup your machine prior to deployment of a new update or patch?) Request this by opening a ticket!
Standard Monitoring - We monitor your machine on a day-to-day basis for security (network and endpoint detection), uptime and recourse usage (we will notify you if your service is reaching its limit.
What is our Premium monitoring option? It includes everything in standard plus the following:
Status page - We will host a dedicated status page for your server for you to monitor your uptime from anywhere. We can also schedule updates or planned downtime on this page! *Each service requires to have premium monitoring to be added to the same status page*
Alerts - In case of issues you will be notified to your email, Slack, Telegram, Signal, or a Webhook. We can customise your notifications to fix yours needs, such as - Recourse limits, SSL expiries, Ping issues, Domain issues.
Migration - An option is present to let our Engineers handle your migration to our service. The price is dependant on the plan selected. Please note - this is a per server migration option, if you are running a cluster of multiple servers, you will need to purchase this option for all servers that you are attempting to migrate over.
Deployment in 36 hours - Yup exactly what this means, provided no issues in communication or with your previous provider, we will be able to deploy your service in 36 hours or less!
Please note - We will require a repository with a website or application to deploy, we ideally recommend to have your repository on GitHub but we can support others. We also require any information regarding how many, what type and configuration of any databases that you require
We assist in creation of the network level firewall and monitor it for any malicious activity
But what is a managed service?
You provide the website and application repository and we host it. It really is that simple.
We work closely with you to make sure that all of your services are working after deployment. This includes firewall setup and monitoring, database creation, migration and backups.
What do we need?
Changes to your domain DNS settings - we will give you instructions on how to do this! We can even help!
Requirements - We need to know what your application is and what it requires. What type of database? Dose your application use SMTP? If yes, what ports do you need opened for your emails? We also require your environment variables setup.
Add us to your repository - On GitHub we will require you to invite our deployment account to your repository. We will never make or push any commitments to your code. We only use this to deploy your service. We can setup an automated deployment per your request. Please note - any issues caused by faulty deployments is your liability if you request to have this active.
Can I request access to SSH into the server?
Definitely! You will need to email in your request to our support team directly on [email protected]. This email needs to come from the email address associated with the Honest Cloud account that the service is active on. We will not accept any request from any other email.
Additional verification steps will be taken to verify your identity prior to authorisation. Please expect additional emails or calls to any phone number listed on your account.
